Frequent questions

How do I book onto lessons?

You need to contact the swimming club or group directly - see our User Group page to see who is currently using the pool. For most sessions you will need to book and pay in advance, so it's worth checking with the group first. 

I am not a member of any club or group, can I just turn up and swim?

 

We have public swim sessions on a Sunday, Monday morning & Tuesday evening. Sessions MUST be pre-booked and pre-paid before you come to swim. There are no cash or card bookings on the day.  You can book swimming sessions by clicking Here.    

What happens to Lost Property left at the pool?

We have a lost property box which is emptied every Sunday night.  All items remaining are disposed of. 

I'm interested in volunteering, but not sure what I can do to help.

The first thing to do is get in touch with us and we can tell you the range of roles that we have available. 

Is the pool building fully accessible? 

From the buildings front door, through the changing rooms to the pool-side is all on one level. However, the viewing area is located up a set of steps, which  does not have a ramp. FoNESP are fundraising to make improvements but we inherited an old building that needs improvements. If you need any specific details about accessibility then please get in touch.

Do you take bookings for private pool parties? 

We do not hire the pool out for birthday parties nor to individuals or families for private hire. 

 

LATEST POOL NEWS 

NATIONAL LOTTERY & SPORT ENGLAND GRANT

We are delighted to announce that we have received a £195k grant from the National Lottery, via Sport England, to replace our aging pool water filtration system. The work will take place in December 2024. Thank you to the National Lottery & Sport England for the support.

 

 

POOL TRANSFORMATION PLANS

We have had our planning application for a total transformation of the pool building ACCEPTED! We will shortly be launching our fundraising appeal.

SYNERGY CLEANING: OUR FIRST POOL SPONSOR!

We're delighted to announce the first sponsors of the pool: Synergy Cleaning. 
Synergy Cleaning provide domestic and commercial cleaning services across the York area. They've been cleaning the pool building since 2020 and we really recommend them. They have been really supportive this year, raising money for the new boilers and providing us their services free of charge. We're really appreciative of Michelle and her team for everything they do for us.

YORK PRESS COMMUNITY PRIDE AWARDS 2022

We were delighted to be be nominated in the 2022 York Press Community Pride Awards, "Best Community Project" category.  Although we didn't win (and many congratulations to Hope Kitchen who did) we were pleased that the work of our volunteer-run charity has been recognised.
